Q. I am having problems downloading the software from the PS 3 directly so can any suggest any other way by which do the software update.
A. yes you can download the firmware straight from the playstation web site. the stick the file on a usb thumbdrive or other external drive and plug it into the ps3

Can I attach an external USB TV tuner to a PS 3 and will it work?
Q. It's connected to a TV but for some reason, the audio signal from the antenna doesn't work. The internal speakers are working though because it works when we play games and watch DVDs on the PS 3.
A. You'd need drivers for something like that, most likely you'll need to install Linux on your ps3 for that to work.
Is the PS 3 Slim backwards compatible with PS 2 games?
Q. I noticed PS 2 systems are no longer for sale in the large chain stores, does anybody know if Sony is planning to add PS 2 compatibility in future versions of PS 3 slim?
A. no.. but SONY has recently said that if you have a thin one, that they may do a recall where you would have a chance to get a new fat one. it would be 80GB
What are some good PS 3 RPG Games to get?
Q. Most of my life that Ive played games, I have only played RPGs. I like The Final Fantasy series (except FF X-2, sucked) and the old Dragon Warrior games on the NES and the original PS. Parasite Eve 1 & 2, Beyond the Beyond, you know, basic RPG's. Any on the PS 3 people might think I'd like?

It got Game Of The Year in '06 (the year it was released) and never got below a 9.1 on any review site.. It's often called The King Of RPG's..

That's the only RPG I can recommend because there are none better.. Not for PS3, the XBox 360 or PC.. Yes, in my opinion, Oblivion is that good..
